QBO (QuickBooks® Online) files are OFX-based files that banks provide for direct import into QuickBooks®. They are sometimes called "Web Connect" files. Despite the name, QBO files work with both QuickBooks® Online and QuickBooks® Desktop.
QBO files are essentially OFX (Open Financial Exchange) files wrapped with QuickBooks®-specific formatting. Our converter handles both formats identically since they contain the same transaction data.
IIF format gives you more control over how transactions are imported — specify exact account names, add custom memos, and pre-categorize expenses. It is also the preferred format for older QuickBooks® Desktop versions.
Absolutely. All file processing happens locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your QBO/OFX file is never uploaded to any server.
Most major US banks offer QBO/OFX downloads, including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One, US Bank, PNC, and many regional banks. Look for "Web Connect" or "Download to QuickBooks®" options.
Yes! After uploading your QBO file, you will see all transactions listed. You can check or uncheck individual transactions to include or exclude them from the IIF output.
IIF files are specifically for QuickBooks® Desktop (Pro, Premier, Enterprise). If you are using QuickBooks® Online, you can import QBO files directly — no conversion needed.
Yes, 100% free. No hidden fees, no premium tiers. A free account is required to ensure fair usage and prevent automated abuse, but all tools remain 100% free. We built this to help small businesses and accountants save time.
Use the exact account names as they appear in your QuickBooks® Chart of Accounts. If an account does not exist, QuickBooks® will create it during import.
We require a free account to prevent automated abuse and ensure fair usage for everyone. Signing up takes under 30 seconds — just your name, email, and QuickBooks® version. No credit card required, and all tools remain completely free.
Our tools are designed primarily for desktop use and work best on a computer. While they may function on mobile devices, the experience is limited — we recommend using a desktop or laptop browser for the best results and full functionality.
