Contact SupportHow do I export Walmart Marketplace payment reports?
Go to Walmart Seller Center → Payments → Statements → Download. Choose "New version" for the modern format or "Legacy version" for the detailed format. Both CSV downloads are fully supported by the converter.
What's the difference between the New and Legacy report formats?
The New format has 29 columns with one row per amount type — this requires aggregation since a single order generates multiple rows. The Legacy format has ~45 columns with one row per order and all amounts (product price, referral fee, shipping, etc.) in separate columns. Both formats are auto-detected and fully supported.
How are Walmart referral fees handled?
When "Split commissions" is enabled, referral fees (Commission on Product, Commission on Shipping) get separate line items in the output for detailed expense tracking. When disabled, they're netted into the sale amount for a cleaner, simpler view. Commission rates vary by category, typically ranging from 6% to 20%.
Does this work with WFS (Walmart Fulfillment Services)?
Yes. WFS fees — including fulfillment fees (starting at $3.45/unit), storage fees ($0.75–$1.50 per cubic foot), and returns processing charges — are detected and can be included or excluded via the "Include WFS fees" toggle. Each WFS fee type gets its own descriptive line item.
Can I import Walmart transactions into QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes, use IIF format for QuickBooks Desktop. The converter generates proper double-entry journal entries with Walmart-specific offset accounts. Import via File → Utilities → Import → IIF Files. You can also use the CSV output with our CSV to IIF converter for additional customization.
How are Walmart returns handled?
Returns appear as refund transactions with negative amounts. Use the "Include returns" toggle to include or exclude them from your output. When included, refund amounts are clearly labeled and any associated commission reversals are captured so your books balance.
What about Walmart reserves?
Reserve and Release Reserve transactions are tracked as transfers. They represent Walmart holding or releasing funds as part of their payment protection process — common for new sellers or during peak seasons. These can be included or excluded from your QuickBooks output.
Is my Walmart data safe?
100% browser-based. Your files never leave your computer. Zero server upload, zero cloud storage. The converter runs pure JavaScript locally, so your Walmart Seller Center data, order details, and revenue figures stay completely private.
Why Walmart Marketplace Sellers Need a QuickBooks Converter
Walmart Marketplace has grown into a serious competitor to Amazon, with over 150,000 active sellers and rising. But Walmart's payment report format is designed for Walmart's internal systems, not for QuickBooks. Payment statements come as CSV files with multiple rows per order (in the New format) or dozens of columns per row (in the Legacy format). Dates may use ISO 8601 formatting, column names don't match QuickBooks import templates, and marketplace-specific fields like WFS fees, reserves, and commission splits have no direct QuickBooks equivalent. Without conversion, you're left manually reformatting spreadsheets — a tedious, error-prone process that gets worse as your Walmart sales volume grows.
Walmart's Commission Structure
Walmart charges category-based referral fees that range from 6% to 20% of the sale price. Most categories fall in the 8–15% range. Unlike Amazon's flat referral fee structure, Walmart applies separate commission rates to the product price and the shipping amount. This means a single order can have two distinct commission line items in the payment report: “Commission on Product” and “Commission on Shipping.” The converter detects both and, when commission splitting is enabled, creates separate expense entries for each. This gives you granular visibility into your true cost of selling on Walmart.
WFS (Walmart Fulfillment Services) Fee Breakdown
Sellers using Walmart Fulfillment Services incur several fee types that appear in payment reports:
- Fulfillment fees — Starting at $3.45 per unit for standard items, varying by weight and dimensions. Oversize items incur higher per-unit charges.
- Storage fees — $0.75 per cubic foot for standard periods, rising to $1.50 per cubic foot during peak season (October–December). Long-term storage surcharges apply to inventory stored beyond 365 days.
- Returns processing — Charged when WFS handles a customer return on your behalf. The fee varies by item category and size.
- Inbound shipping — If using Walmart's discounted carrier rates for inbound shipments, these costs appear as separate deductions in your payment report.
The converter identifies all WFS fee types and, when the “Include WFS fees” toggle is enabled, creates descriptive line items for each. This makes it straightforward to categorize WFS costs under dedicated expense accounts in QuickBooks.
New vs. Legacy Payment Report Format
Walmart Seller Center offers two payment report download options:
- New format (29 columns) — One row per amount type per order. A single order can generate 4–8 rows: product price, shipping price, commission on product, commission on shipping, WFS fulfillment fee, adjustments, etc. This format is cleaner and more structured but requires aggregation to get net amounts per order.
- Legacy format (~45 columns) — One row per order with all amounts spread across separate columns. Easier to read manually but the wide column count makes it harder to map to QuickBooks's narrower import template.
The converter auto-detects which format you uploaded and handles both seamlessly. For most sellers, the New format is recommended since it's the default going forward and provides more granular fee data.
How to Download Payment Reports from Walmart Seller Center
- Log into Walmart Seller Center at seller.walmart.com.
- Navigate to Payments in the left sidebar.
- Click Statements to see your payment periods.
- Select the statement period you want to export.
- Click Download and choose either “New version” or “Legacy version.”
- Save the CSV file to your computer, then upload it to this converter.
How Commission Splitting Works in the Converter
When you enable the “Split commissions” toggle, the converter separates Walmart referral fees into their own line items rather than netting them into the sale amount. For example, a $49.99 product with a 15% referral fee ($7.50) and a $5.99 shipping charge with a 15% shipping commission ($0.90) would generate three QuickBooks entries instead of one: the gross sale ($55.98), the product commission (−$7.50), and the shipping commission (−$0.90). This three-entry approach lets you track commission expense separately from revenue — essential for accurate P&L reporting and category-level profitability analysis.
Tips for Walmart Marketplace Sellers
- 14-day payment cycles — Walmart settles payments every two weeks. Import and reconcile one payment period at a time, matching the total deposit to your bank statement. The converter's net amount should align with your bank deposit for each cycle.
- Reserve management — Walmart may hold a percentage of your earnings as a reserve, especially for new sellers or during dispute periods. Reserve transactions appear as “Reserve” (hold) and “Release Reserve” (release) in payment reports. Track these as transfers in QuickBooks so they don't inflate or deflate your revenue figures.
- Create a dedicated Walmart account — Set up a “Walmart Marketplace” bank account in QuickBooks to track all Walmart-related transactions separately from your other sales channels.
- Track commissions by category — Since Walmart's referral fees vary by product category (6–20%), use the commission splitting feature to monitor your effective commission rate over time. If your blended rate exceeds expectations, you may want to adjust pricing or shift product mix.
